Shannon & Brandon

On Christmas Eve in 2018, I was asked to photograph Jane and Grant’s wedding at Lewes Registry Office. Despite the season, the weather was incredible, and I captured some fantastic photographs of the couple in the low winter sun beneath the arches at Southover Grange.

Fast-forward nearly seven years, and Grant, Brandon’s stepdad, approached me to photograph Brandon’s wedding to Shannon in Eastbourne, following a recommendation from his mum and stepdad. I rarely get asked to photograph weddings outside the Lewes area, so it is always an opportunity to explore new venues.

Shannon and Brandon met at St Michael and All Angels Church in Eastbourne, making it the ideal location for their ceremony. The couple then enjoyed a reception at Eastbourne Downs Golf Club. Despite the bad weather, they were treated to a little sunshine and a fantastic rainbow.

In the words of the late, great Dolly Parton, "The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain."
